Subject: Vortex 4-16 PST which height rings

I have a new 4-16x50mm 30mm tube Vortex PST that I will be putting on a Savage 10 FP in .308. The gun came with a EWG one piece base so I will use that or a 20 moa ken Farrell base. I want to use 30 mm Burris Signature Z rings and I cannot decide if I should use the medium or high rings. I like to mount my scopes as low as possible and yet still be able to use my scope caps. The 30mm Med. bases are lower than the 1" Med. ones that I am used to using so I am not sure. Originally I was going to order the medium. Any thoughts?
