If you take UIF's suggestion, you will have an excellent 1000+ yard set up. If you go with a SS 10xHD, it would be reasonable, though not optimum, for hunting, as well. Or, the 3-15 is superior. You have a lot of choices. Precision 1000 yards shots... ammo is going to be your big cost driver, then barrels, then...

there is a lot more to consider than the initial investment.
