Subject: Old Redfield 3200 vs modern scopes?

The rifle has bases, but they are spaced for the old 3200s, Unertl ect type scopes. The rifle do have some collectors value and that is why I am considering topping it with a Redfield 3200. I have no idea how good they are? I was hoping that someone on the forum might have some experience with these Redfields and can tell me how usable they are? If they do not perform well I will have to look at drilling a 3rd set of holes for a modern scope.

![]() Well, first of all your Ruger should be 'scope base-ready' already on the receiver....you shouldn't need to do any drilling... The Redfield 3200 were good scopes years ago but everybody has made improvements since then. I would get bases for the receiver and go with a more modern scope. |
