Rifle Scopes : Opinions sought on short range hunting scope

 

I am committed to the VX-2 Ultralight 2-7x28mm on the sample list.  I think that is a great fit for the little 16.5" Ruger carbine.  That rifle is 3" shorter than my Ruger 77/44!

 

Still not sure about the CZ550 Mannlicher. Another of the above would work.   So many choices.   I though hard about illumination I've deer hunted with it, I don't consider it a must have.   However the VX-R is still on the short list.   

This thought may be silly but 30mm might be a more appropriate tube sitting above a Euro rifle :P
