Rifle Scopes : 4x

Hi all.
I have an ar15 chambered in 6.8. I plan on using for deer and the like. Conditions: No low light hunting
            Rain or shine hunting
            No stand hunting
            Up 300 or so yardage give or take
The rifle is not overly light so, I guess lighter the better?
QD scope mount is the plan because might need the open sights.

4x fixed good enough?
