I'm looking for a scope to put on my new Savage Hog Hunter 308. I'm going to start increasing my range out to 500-600yd, and will eventually wander out to 1000yd. It will also be used for hunting from 50-300yds. I would like something with a top end magnification around 20-25x, exposed turrets, and some sort of holdover reticle. Illum would be nice for night shots with my ND3, but probably can't afford it and still get a good scope. Here is what I'm considering:

Millet LRS 6.5-25x56 mil-dot -$450 (this was my buddies suggestion)
Falcon Menace 5.5-25x50 EMD FFP -$450
Vortex Viper 6-20x50 mil-dot -$450

I would have to say that the Vortex has the lead at this point based on the fact that I own a Viper and absolutely love it. It is crystal clear, and their customer service/warranty is second to none. However, the other 2 seem like a lot of scope for the money. But that also makes me think they may suffer in optical clarity because of this. Other scopes i have considered:

Vortex Viper HS - The BDC reticle is different from the plain Viper line, and was way too thin for my eyes.
Viper HS-T - This seems to have all the feature I want, but they only offer a 4-16x model. This may very well be enough to shoot precision at 600yd, but I have a hard time seeing the target well enough at 200yds on 9x to hit tight groups.
Sightmark 8.5-25x50 - I checked this one out at my local shop, and it seemed to have pretty decent glass. But at $200, how good could it be?

I appreciate any and all suggestions, comments, etc. You see the range I'm in, and if I keep it around there that will leave me $150 or so for rings and a base. I would also appreciate some suggestions on those a well.
