Hello ILya,
Are you still out there as a moderator? I would like to see you RE-visit this discussion some 7 years later concerning Pentax scopes----in particular the lesser Gameseeker iii and 30 lines. And, I would like this to include high magnification scopes in general i.e. up to 32X or 40X. I just purchased a new Pentax Gameseeker 30 8-32X50 and must say I am sufficiently impressed w/the optics which are both bright and clear out to the max magnification----32X. Moreover, the turrets are not mushy as I have read in a number of reviews but are rather crisp and loud. I wonder if in 2013, the Chinese have finally begun to begin producing "some" worthwhile product. I recently purchased a new Bushnell Legend Ultra HD made in China (4.5-14X44) and must say it really has excellent glass and build quality and is underpriced at its current cost in regard to its competition. I am tired of the Chinese bashers (this is not to say I am advocating Chinese) but just because it is Chinese does not mean that it is bad any longer. I also picked up another Chinese scope within the past week----An Osprey 10-40X50 signature series and am completely shocked at the glass and build quality-----this thing is crystal clear at 40X with sufficient brightness and eye relief. I am sure there is a considerable amount of Chinese junk out there but I must say both the Osprey and the Pentax Gameseeker 30 are both outstanding regardless of their bargain cost. I am sure this will cause a lot of bashing but I know what I bought and it is what it is------two quite good scopes. My only other forray into Chinese was when I bought my first scope a Wally World CenterPoint which got milky 16X but to its credit did hold zero. OK, enough rambling on my part and back to Pentax vs. Nikon Prostaff (also Chinese but given a large amount of credit)????????????
