So I picked up a couple vintage optics at a yard sale and need some info and help with one. I wanted one of them and the second one just came with it.
--First one is a Kollmorgen Bear Cub 4x S/N:22111 with the post reticle. It has some light ring marks and looks like a matte black almost green tint finish. the glass is perfect and super clear. Anyone know when this was made and is the post style reticle scarce vs others available? A rough value would be great too?
--Second one is a Weaver K2.5 with fine crosshair reticle, has the small brass slotted screw elevation and windage adjustments, also came with what looks like original lens covers Overall its very clean. The down side is the Eyepiece glass is chipped in a few spots on the edge. Since I can remove the whole eyepiece and it looks like the glass is held in by a brass cap I think I could put replacement lens if I could find one or use a whole rear eyepiece. So does anyone have any ideas as to find a lens or a whole rear eyepiece? and what a fair cost for either one of these would be? Its a great little scope and works as is but I would like to get it back to undamaged condition. I called IronSight and they told me they don't sell just the lens and refinishing would be 85.00 and a long wait. I really like the lightly worn look and just want it to be In 100% working order.
Thanks Guys
