I would go with a 2-7 or a 1-4 the ideal scope choice would be a1-4 Trijicon Accupoint with its tritium + fiber optic illumination but its a lot more money but very worthwhile.

I also very much like Leupolds fixed 6x42 for brush the Heavy Duplex for open longer distances the long range duplex. I find that I can get onto something pretty good up to 6x but more than that wont work for me hand holding the rifle without a rest. The 6x42 is as bright of an optic in low light as one can get.
