Hello folks,
I just found this forum, and wondered if anyone can tell me how to properly adjust the turret caps on an old Unertl external adjustment type scope ring? By that, I mean that I would like to set the calibrated knobs on the windage and elevation turrets to read "zero" at the current settings, which coincide with my 200 yard zero for the .45-70 blackpowder 1885 Winchester it is attached to. I assumed it was like a Leupold turret cap, in that I could loosen a set screw and rotate the turret cap, then lock the set screw. If so, please tell me what tool to use. It would appear to take a straight slot mini screwdriver, but the caps are so old and full of goop that I can't really tell, not with my eyesight, anyway.
