Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.  Ilya, your comparisons tests were some of the most compact bundles of helpfulness I've found on this journey.  Your words on the Leica strengthen my tendency to lean that way.

I did go look through a few today (my only alpha 1st hand experience).  I looked through the Conquest HD5, Victory HT, and the Swaro Z5.  I wasn't impressed with the Conquest (not in same class I know).  It was very hard to get behind and I could see more than just the view go in and out/black.  There appeared to be extra rings inside I could see when I moved out of line of sight.  I then held the Z5....WOW!  Now that is more what I'd expect from alpha glass.  I made a long trip today to compare a Victory HT with another Z5.  The Victory was much better than the Conquest but still far behind the Z5 IMHO (but who am I?).

I was so impressed with the Z5, I started wondering if I should give up the lights and just go with a Z6 (even though it's still almost $1k more than my Leica).

But, with Ilya's comments, I'm back to the Leica.  I just wish I could handle one first because most seem to love the Victories but I would be willing to pay more for the Swaro...oh, and the Victory was about $400 more than the Z5 I handled!

SVT, I am in Monroe, east of Charlotte.
