That is true, but I believe it was you who said there's more to a great scope than great glass, and I agree with that 100%. I put the glass of the VX6 into the great category, just not the absolute best. What the VX6 has going for it, that many other super alpha glass does not, is the most user friendly eyebox in any variable scope that I've seen, especially at higher mags. The adjustable illumination system is super, and easy, and does things that no other system does. Now if the OP is sold on hashes, dots, mills, etc, then forget the VX6. The VX6 also has a huge adjustment range. I guess it depends on what is most important to an individual, the hunting part, or tactical part. Just how important is a side focus/parallax adj on a pure hunting scope, say in the 12-15x mag range? |
In the original post on this thread, ballshrinker was quite clear on his priorities and his price range.
He wants the best glass possible and he has $2500 to spend. The rest of scope features he mentioned come out of what he wants to do with the rifle and when you start looking at longer range shooting most conventional hunting scopes are left wanting since they are not designed for that.
While the VX-6 is an excellent scope in its price range, for $2500 there are better options that offer better image quality.
