I think bushnell advertises that their newest ultra wide band elite coatings transmit more light in 300% of the visual spectrum than with the 4200 elite coatings. This is an admission, so to speak, that a scope does not transmit an advertised value across the whole spectrum. Bushnell has always advertised 95% with both the 4200 elite and elite.
A number of years ago I saw a chart that showed transmission of various companies' coatings. Don't know where it came from or whether it was accurate, but it did reinforce the notion of transmission variance across the visual light spectrum.
