Subject: suggestion on long range scope

![]() Hi, I am all new to opticaltalk.com and I am sure this question may already been asked many times. I am sorry for that. Here goes. I finally got me a savage 110fcp in 338 lapua. My problem is trying to decide on a FFP scope. I have a SS 3-15x42 FFP on my .308 and I love that scope, I also think the magnification may not be enough for the .338. My budget is around $1400, curious what other scopes are out there that you mite be using that are durable enough to handle a lapua. I've looked into Trijicon, Leupold, Zeiss and Nightforce. I cant really find a whole lot of info on how people like these or how they hold up and I've spent a whole bunch of time searching with minimal luck. I will be using my rifle for long range steel target shooting 800 yard+. Any help and info would be greatly appreciated |
For quite some time I had the SWFA SS 5-20x50 on my 338 and never felt short-changed by it.
I have the illuminated version, but the non-illuminated is a couple of hundred dollars less.
The SS is FFP, but if you decide to go with an SFP reticle, I would try this:
