Midway agrees & is sending me a new scope. I tested further over the weekend by installing a 1" metal tube in place of the scope & cut it in half & lined up the cut ends as I tightened the rings. The halves lined up perfectly along the cut ends. I did this to see if the 1 piece base or the rings were somehow torquing the scope. Thanks.
