  Something that we should consider is that you mention "most would be under 75.  A lot of heavy brush shots, often with low light conditions."  So I've been thinking reticle choice. I use a Leupold with their heavy plex reticle which is easy to see against brush and in low light. According to ILya's article the Diamondback and Burris (both w/BDC reticles) offer a thicker reticle than some others.  Also there's a member here (Roy Finn) whose opinions are highly regarded.  He's big on the Bushnell Fire Fly reticle saying that it's thick enough that in most conditions the FireFly option isn't needed.  So even though that Elite scope that you list doesn't have the FireFly you'd still be getting a thick reticle.
