Rifle Scopes : Pentax scopes

Are you the new moderator?  I only recently became aware of the opticstalk forum after reading a number of older entries while researching riflescopes.  I am a self-taught scope afficionado and love specs and manufacturing processes as they relate to scopes.  Obviously, there has been a quantum leap in manufacturing quality since this particular thread was written and I would like to revisit this thread in particular as Pentax Gameseeker vs. Nikon Prostaff and in the broader sense of what has been historically categorized as lower end scopes and how they fare.  You know, the usual cast of characters including Tasco, BSA, Barska, Mueller, Swift, NcStar, and a host of others which I could name.  Moreover, even some of the mid to upper grade scopes offer value lines like the Gameseeker, Prostaff, Crossfire, Kaspa Timberline, and on and on.   Obviously, the old adage that you get what what you pay for does "not necessarily" hold true anymore.  In some instances, you may actually get more than what you pay for.  Or, you may be ripped off blind!  But, off your question-----negatory, I am not the "Butch" you reference from Accurate Reloading Forum's whatever that is!
