I am not sure if I understand what you are doing. It sounds like you turned the elevation adjustment all the way down and if that is the case I am thinking that you hit the end of the adjustment travel. And that maybe why it is off. If you go up a few clicks does it line up then? And if that is the case unless you have some sort of MOA base you will be shooting very low. When a manufacture states that a scope has say 100MOA of elevation adjustment that really means that you have about 50MOA of elevation adjustment.
