I have used Zeiss scopes with their #20 reticle and find it adequate for low light hunting on Whitetails due to the contrast of the etched black reticle on tan hide.
For me, hunting in Texas for deer stops at 30 minutes past sundown.
With the 42mm objective I expect to have to back off the magnification to be useable at last light.
What appeals to me about this scope is the magnification range, glass and turret setup.
I have ran a similar turret before from Zeiss and like it because I get the benefits of being able to dial in my yardage but still have a low profile turret with both a zero stop and being able to lock it in place
Would I prefer a FFP and mil based turret?
Sure, but I can certainly live with SFP as I am not using a reticle to measure or compensate for yardage.
MOA? Sure, I just make a cheat sheet and tape it to the rifle.
As this will go on a flat shooting 280AI with a 250 yard zero means that I can hold point blank out to 300 which 95% of my hunting takes place but I have the capability to shoot out to 500 with confidence.
