Subject: Which scope?

Been looking/reading posts on the varmint scope forum-guess I should have started there.
Seems I want a second focal plane reticle scope with turrets but I would also like to have a reticle with a means for holding for wind, I realize I would have to set the scope to the calibration power to use the wind hash marks on a reticle like the Zeiss Z-varmint or the leupold varmint. I would primarily dial the elevation turret for range and not use the hold over reticle other than just for wind.
I am seeing a lot of scopes with mil dot and other SFP reticles. Of them which have fine enough reticles for wind holds for varmint hunting (and reliable adjustments for elevation turret twisting).
Goal is to stay at or under $1000
Looking at power ranges of 6-20,4-30
Sightron S3
Leupold VX3 or mark 4
Bushnell elite tactical
Weaver tactical
Zeiss conquest 6.5-20 with rapid z varmint.
