Vx-r glass is supposedly between vx-2 and vx-3.

From what I have read on these forums, the Accupoint is probably the best overall package.  And having the illumination always be on is a nice bonus.  No batteries to die, either.

Vxr glass is not quite as good to my eye as accupoint glass. But the quality is easily good enough for all legal ligjt hunting. I have tested mine in really low light vs my accpoint and with the great illumination system it has it works amd looks very close to the accupoint. My accupoint is a 1-4x though and my vxr 3-9x so thing may be different with accupoint 3-9x.

But the point is the leupold is quite good. But if u are willing to spend $300+ more the accupoint is a little better. Illumination wise the vxr has a great system but you are always dealing with the fact the battery may die or the electonics may fail. With the accupoint that is not a concern.

I have an Meopta Artemis, which was the predecessor to the Meopro.  It has good glass as well.  Not sure I would say it is any better than Accupoint glass though.

One other thing to note the accupoint on 9x only has 3.2 inches of eye relief.  That may cause you a few problems when shooting in a sitting position or uphill.  Just another thing to think about.  I believe the Leupold has 3.7 on 9x.

I mounted a Vortex Viper 2-7x32 on my Zastava 22 magnum rifle.  Vortex doesn't produce that scope any more, but their Diamondback and Viper HS line have comparable scopes as well.

Availability in Geneva could get interesting though.

If you're contemplating a fixed power, Meopta's Meopro 6X is available with #4. I have that scope, and it's VERY nice!

For variable scopes, it's hard to beat the aforementioned Meopro 3-9X and Conquest 3-9X.

I recently was out hunting for the first time since I started wearing glasses.  When I was at the blind, I had a hard time focusing in with my scope.   My question is: Is there a particular scope that I should check in to for people who wear glasses?

Ted gives absolutely sound advice, and I have always have had the highest regard for his opinions!

That said, I have been doing further research. that Victory Diavari is a first focal plane, I believe, and Mojo has no experience with scopes that are first focal plane, and I think that I should stick with SFP scopes. that does not meant that I am against them, but just that I should stick with what I know.

Also, I figure if I would be spending $1,800 on a scope, I might as well save my money for awhile, and just go right to a Victory HT 2.5-10X50 Illuminated #60 and hunting turrets. Second focal plane too!

As "The Crusher" would say, How 'bout dat!"

Are they progressive bifocal lenses? If so, you will need to move a round to find the sweet spot.
If not, you need to adjust the focus.

I wear tri-focals and I just can't use them with a scoped rifle.  At my last visit to my eye doctor I asked about single lens glasses for shooting. He suggested that I try contact lenses. They work great for shooting.  You might want to consider trying them.  The disposable type are pretty cheap.

A number 60 is available in a Victory Diavari.  The # 60 has a thin cross hair and a red dot at center.  The # 20 is a plex reticle with thin cross hairs at center and is available in the 4.5-14 Conquest.  If the reticle that you want is not available in the 4.5-14 Conquest, you may want to contact Zeiss. They will change reticles for reasonable fee.

You might do well to consider a scope with a fast-focus adjustable eyepiece.  This makes it easy to use both with or without your glasses (which can get fogged, misplaced or broken).

I wear glasses for distance vision, and have fast-focus eyepieces on all my riflescopes.  My moment of clarity came when I was invited to take part in an informal target contest.  I had my rifle (with a fixed focus scope), but my glasses were back in the cabin.  It would have been an easy win.

For safety's sake, I use binoculars (and not the scope) for spotting game that isn't close enough to clearly identify.  Binoculars also have fast-focus capability.

Let just say for the price and with the opportunities I had to examine
some of the recommendations, so far the 2-7 Redfield Revolution has
been the one I like best.

Since I'll likely be ordering from the internet, what bases and ring size
would be correct for the Redfield scope?

Thanks,
Tim

I have the stainless version http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/bigbore/1895SBL.asp which has the scout type mount from XS systems that comes standard on the stainless gun.  I mounted an aimpoint 9000L with 2moa dot on the first one which my son now has and the second one has open sights for now but I am a big fan of the aimpoint on this rifle because it tends to be a defensive weapon after dark when in areas where there are large preditors.
